SONYA YONCHEVA | TOSCA | LONDON

Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Royal Opera House Covent Garden after an eight-year hiatus on July 14, 2024, as Tosca in a Jonathan Kent production led by Andrea Battistoni. She will share the stage with Yusif Eyvazov as Mario Cavaradossi and  Aleksei Isaev as Scarpia. She will sing two additional shows on July 17 and 21 before returning for more performances in November and December 2024.

Since her 2017 role debut at the Metropolitan Opera, Tosca has become one of Sonya Yoncheva’s most performed parts, having sung it in numerous international venues, including the Wiener Staatsoper, Staatsoper Berlin, the Arena Verona, Baden-Baden, the Zurich Opera, the Gstaad Festival and with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on tour in Japan.

The Bulgarian soprano made her much anticipated ROH debut as Mimì in La bohème in 2013, returning as Marguerite in Faust, Violetta in La traviata, Micaëla in Carmen, the title role in a new production of Norma, and as Antonia in Les contes d’Hoffmann.
