Sonya Yoncheva returns to her native Bulgaria, and more precisely to the Varna Summer Theater, to star in two Puccini masterpieces: she will sing Mimì in La bohème and the title role in Madama Butterfly on August 6 and August 10, respectively. La bohème, staged by Ada Gurra and conducted by Krastin Nastev, will also feature Reynaldo Droz as Rodolfo, Svilen Nikolov as Marcello, Ilina Mihailova as Musetta, Plamen Dimitrov as Schaunard and Deyan Vachkov as Colline.
In Madama Butterfly, presented in a production by Nina Naydenova under the musical direction of Nayden Todorov, Sonya Yoncheva will share the stage with Riccardo Massi as Pinkerton, Plamen Dimitrov as Sharpless, and Michaela Berova.
