On August 5 and 10, 2023, Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Arena di Verona as Tosca in a production by Hugo De Ana and under the musical direction of Francesco Ivan Ciampa, sharing the stage with Vittorio Grigolo as Cavaradossi and Roman Burdenko as Scarpia.

After debuting it to rave reviews at the Metropolitan Opera in 2017, the Bulgarian soprano has interpreted the role of the Roman diva on numerous international stages such as the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Wiener Staaatsoper, the Berlin Philharmonie, and the Zurich Opera. Tosca also appears frequently in her upcoming engagements, as she will sing it at the Menuhin Festival Gstaad, Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Bayerische Staatsoper, in Tokyo and Yokohama.

Sonya Yoncheva has performed at the Arena Verona as Violetta in La traviata in 2021, telecast by ZDF and 3sat, as well as in several gala concerts.
