Major role and house debut for Erika Grimaldi who will sing her first Tosca inaugurating the 2024 season of the Amigos Canarios de la Ópera (Opera de las Palmas) on February 20, 2024, in a new production by Daniele Piscopo and under the musical direction of Ramón Tebar.  She will share the stage with Piotr Beczala as Cavaradossi, George Gagnidze as Scarpia, Max Hochmuth as Angelotti, David Barrera as the Sacristan, Isaac Galán as Spoletta, Fernando Campero as Sciarrone and Marina Díaz as the Shepherd. There will be two additional performances on February 22 and 24.

This is Erika Grimaldi’s second paramount role debut this winter, after her highly successful first Manon Lescaut at the Teatro Comunale Bologna just one month ago.

The Asti born-soprano began her operatic season with one of her signature roles, Mimì in La bohème and early this summer she will fly to Washington DC for concert performances as Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello under Gianandrea Noseda.
