On September 14, 2019, Etienne Dupuis will return to the Opéra de Montréal as the protagonist of Evgenij Onegin in a Tomer Zvulun production conducted by Guillaume Tourniaire, opening the 2019/2020 season of his home town’s opera house. This will be the premiere of a series of four performances running through September 22. Nicole Car will sing Tatyana, Owen McCausland Lenskij, Denis Sedov Prince Gremin, Carolyn Sproule Olga, Stefania Toczyska Filipievna, Christianne Belanger Larina, Spencer Britten Triquet, Jean-Philippe Mc Clish Capitaine, Brenden Friesen Zaretskic and Simon Chaussé M. After this Montreal Onegin, Etienne Dupuis’ upcoming engagements include Rodrigo in Don Carlo at the Opéra Bastille Paris, Christmas Concert Galas at the Maison Symphonique de Montréal, Albert in Werther at the Metropolitan Opera, Athanaël in Thaïs at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the baritone soloist in Fauré’s Requiem with the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal, Don Carlo in La forza del destino at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and a Gala Concert honoring Joseph Rouleau in Montreal.
