ETIENNE DUPUIS | IL TROVATORE | MONTRÉAL

On September 10, 2022, Etienne Dupuis will make his role debut as Conte di Luna in Il trovatore, in a new production by Michel-Maxime Legault and under the musical direction of Maestro Jacques Lacombe, the first of a series of four performances running through September 18, 2022. He will share the stage with Luc Robert in the title role, Nicole Car as Leonora, Marie-Nicole Lemieux as Azucena and Matthew Treviño as Ferrando.

A native of Montréal, Etienne has already appeared in the principal opera house of his town in numerous roles, including Joe in Dead Man Walking, Simon Doucet in the world premiere of Les Feluettes, Pink in the world premiere of Another Brick in the Wall and most recently in the title role of Eugene Onegin. He was also a member of l’Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal.

Other Verdi roles in his repertoire include Rodrigo / Rodrigue in both the Italian and French version of Don Carlos, Germont in La traviata and Renato in Un ballo in maschera.
