ETIENNE DUPUIS IN LE NOZZE DI FIGARO IN MUNICH

On September 23, 2020 Etienne Dupuis will sing the role of Conte d’Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro at the Bavarian State Opera Munich, in a production by Christof Loy and under the musical direction of Maestro Constantinos Carydis, the first of a series of four performances running through October 3, 2020. He will share the stage with Alex Esposito as Figaro, Louise Alder as Susanna, Golda Schultz as Contessa d’Almaviva, Emily D’Angelo as Cherubino, Anne Sofie von Otter as Marcellina and Peter Rose as Don Bartolo.

The Quebecois baritone has previously sung the role of Conte d’Almaviva at the Calgary Opera and most recently at the Metropolitan Opera. While the performances at the Met were his last appearances prior to the global lockdown due to the Covid19 pandemic, the production in Munich will be his first staged shows since international theatres had to close.

Etienne Dupuis made his Bavarian State Opera debut in the 2017/2018 season as the protagonist of another Beaumarchais based opera, Il barbiere di Siviglia.
