On June 16, 2024, Gabriela Scherer will sing the role of Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Dūsseldorf in a new Vasily Barkhatov production led by Axel Kober. She will share the stage with Michael Volle in the title role, Bogdan Taloș as Daland, Jussi Myllys as Erik, Anna Harvey as Mary, and David Fischer as the Steuermann. Additional performances will be on June 21, 12, 29, July 3, and 6.

Senta has become a signature role for the Swiss soprano, having sung it just last season in two new productions, one at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the other at the Teatro Nacional de São Carlos in Lisbon, as well as at the Staatsoper Hamburg just a few months ago.
