On April 28, 2017 George Gagnidze will take part in an operatic gala concert with soprano Barbara Frittoli and conductor Constantine Orbelian who will lead the State Youth Orchestra of Armenia. The concert will take place within the First International Yerevan Opera Festival at the National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet of Yerevan, Armenia. George Gagnidze will sing Tonio’s “Prologo” from Pagliacci, “Di provenza” from La traviata, “Nemico della patria” from Andrea Chénier, “Cortigiani” from Rigoletto and the duet between Simon Boccanegra and Amelia Grimaldi as well as “La ci darem la mano” from Don Giovanni with Barbara Frittoli.

“I’m delighted to sing under the baton of Maestro Constantine Orbelian for the first time”, says George Gagnidze. “And I am happy to perform beside Barbara Frittoli again, with whom I have shared the stage in Pagliacci at the Metropolitan Opera and in Simon Boccanegra at the Hamburgische Staatsoper in the past.”

After this concert in Yerevan Mr Gagnidze will perform Carlo Gérard in Andrea Chénier and Scarpia in Tosca at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, will open the 2017 festival season of the Arena di Verona in the title role of a new production of Nabucco and will make his BBC Proms debut as Šakovlity in Hovanščina.
