On July 3, 2022, Irina Lungu will make her role debut as Alice Ford in Falstaff at the Opernhaus Zürich, in a production by Sven-Eric Bechtolf and under the musical direction of Maestro Gianandrea Noseda, the first of a series of five performances running through July 10, 2022.

She will share the stage with Sir Bryn Terfel in the title role, Konstantin Shushakov as Ford, Sandra Hamaoui as Nannetta, Cyrille Dubois as Fenton and Marianna Pizzolato as Mrs Quickly.

Earlier in her career, Irina repeatedly sang the part of Nannetta in the same opera on stages such as the Teatro alla Scala. The Russian soprano has already appeared at the Opernhaus Zürich as Violetta in La traviata and as Lucia di Lammermoor in a new production. Just this past month, she made her acclaimed debut as Imogene in Il pirata on this same stage.
