IRINA LUNGU IN FAUST AT COVENT GARDEN

From April 15 – May 6, 2019 Irina Lungu will sing Marguerite in the David McVicar staging of Gounod’s Faust at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. Dan Ettinger will conduct. Joining her will be Michael Fabiano in the title role, Erwin Schrott as Méphistophélès, and Stéphane Degout as Valentin, among others.

Ms. Lungu was most recently heard as Marguerite at the Teatro Real in Madrid where she appeared in a production by Alex Ollé, also conducted by Dan Ettinger. Further appearances in the role include acclaimed performances at the Teatro alla Scala Milan and the Teatro Regio Turin (the latter of which is available on DVD/Blue-Ray on the United Classics label), as well as in a concert performance with the Moscow Philharmonic Society.

After Faust, Ms. Lungu’s upcoming engagements include Donna Anna in Don Giovanni in Düsseldorf, Norina in Don Pasquale at the Vienna State Opera, and Violetta in La Traviata at the Arena di Verona.
