IRINA LUNGU IN LA BOHÈME AT THE OPÉRA DE MONTE-CARLO

On January 24, 2020, Irina Lungu will sing Mimì in a new production of La bohème by Jean-Louis Grinda at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo conducted by Maestro Daniele Callegari, the first of a series of four performances running through January 31, 2020. She will share the stage with Andeka Gorrotxategi as Rodolfo, Mariam Battistelli as Musetta, Davide Luciano as Marcello, Nicolas Courjal as Colline and Boris Pinkhasovich as Schaunard.

Irina Lungu made her role debut at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow in 2015, subsequently interpreting it at the Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro San Carlo Naples), the Seoul Arts Center, the Royal Opera Muscat (this very same production) and just last month at the Vienna State Opera. Later this season, she will reprise the role of Puccini’s unfortunate seamstress at the Teatro Lirico Cagliari.

Other upcoming engagements for the Russian soprano include Marguerite in Faust for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera, and a role debut as the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Zaryadye Hall Moscow.
