KANGMIN JUSTIN KIM IN LA CLEMENZA DI TITO IN VIENNA

On October 17, 2019 Kangmin Justin Kim will make his house and role debut at the Theater an der Wien as Annio in a new staging of La clemenza di Tito. This will also be his very first appearance in Austria’s capital after contracts at the Salzburg Festival and Styriarte. Justin will share the stage in a production directed by Sam Brown with Jeremy Ovenden, Nicole Chevalier, Mari Eriksmoen and David Hansen amongst others performing unter Stefan Gottfried.

Annio is Justin’s third Mozart trouser role in 2019, after having tackled Idamante in a new Idomeneo at the Mai Festival of Wiesbaden and Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro for his Covent Garden debut. He will be performing it later again this season at Dallas Opera in a gala concert.

Other engagements of the 2019/20 season include the title role in the world premiere of M. Butterfly by Huang Ruo in Santa Fe, his role debut as Ruggiero in a new production of Alcina in Nancy and Dijon, Nerone in L’incoronazione di Poppea for Chicago’s Haymarket Opera and his return to Cologne as Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus.
