After her highly acclaimed at the Theater an Der Wien last fall as the protagonist of “Heute Abend: Lola Blau”, on May 27, 2023, Katrin Wundsam returns to this historical opera house as the Garderobiere / Gymnasiast in Alban Berg’s Lulu, in a production by Marlene Monteiro Freitas under the musical direction of Maxim Pascal. The large and distinguished cast includes Vera-Lotte Boecker in the title role, Bo Skovhus as Dr. Schön, Edgaras Montvidas as Alwa, Cameron Becker as Maler, Anne Sofie von Otter as Gräfin Geschwitz and Kurt Rydl as Schigolch in the leading roles. The last of the six performances will be on June 6.

Earlier this season Katrin Wundsam received accolades for an almost unprecedented feat, singing the two roles of Ježibaba and the Foreign Princess in Dvořák’s Rusalka.
