MAGDALENA ANNA HOFMANN AS LEONORE IN FIDELIO IN BOLOGNA

On November 12, 2019, will make her debut at the Teatro Comunale Bologna while adding the role of Leonore in Fidelio to her repertoire, in a new production by Georges Delnon (co-production with the Hamburg State Opera) and under the musical direction of Maestro Asher Fisch, the first of a series of three performances running through November 15, 2019. She will share the stage with Daniel Frank as Florestan, Lucio Gallo as Don Pizzarro, Anna Maria Serra as Marzelline, Petri Lindroos as Rocco, Nicolò Donini as Don Fernando and Sascha E. Kramer as Jacquino. The November 14 performance will be live-streamed on the Teatro Comunale’s official website: http://www.tcbo.it/eventi/fidelio/

Austrian soprano Magdalena Anna Hofmann has in recent years gained wide recognition especially in the German language repertoire, obtained remarkable success at her role debut as Isolde in Tristan und Isolde in Hagen, which earned her a nomination as Best Soprano of the Year by the Opernwelt magazine. Another career-turning debut was Senta in Der fliegende Holländer at the Opéra de Lyon.

After this Bologna Fidelio, Magdalena Anna Hofmann’s upcoming engagements include Sieglinde in Die Walküre with the Cracow Philharmonics, Isabel in Lessons in Love and Violence by George Benjamin at the Theater St. Gallen, and Leonore in Fidelio at the Theater Heidelberg.
