MARIA JOSÉ SIRI IN ANDREA CHÉNIER IN BERLIN

On November 28, 2018 Maria José Siri will return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin as Maddalena in John Dew’s legendary staging of Andrea Chénier conducted by Giampaolo Bisanti. Martin Muehle will sing the title role and Roman Burdenko that of Carlo Gérard. There will be two more performances on December 2 and 5 with the last one marking the final performance of John Dew’s staging.

Maria José Siri made her Deutsche Oper Berlin debut in 2014 as Tosca and later returned as Madama Butterfly and for praised performances as Maddalena in the same staging of Andrea Chénier last year. Maddalena is one of the soprano’s most performed roles which has led her to the Teatro Regio of Turin, the Royal Opera House of Stockholm, the New National Theatre of Tokyo, the Rome Opera House and the Bregenz Festival.
