MARIA JOSÉ SIRI IN VERDI’S REQUIEM IN BREGENZ

On July 22, 2019 María José Siri will sing the soprano soloist in a one-off performance of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Bregenz Festival under the musical direction of Maestro Fabio Luisi, sharing the stage with mezzo-soprano Anna Goryachova, tenor Sergey Romanovsky and bass Gabor Bretz.

María José Siri has already performed Verdi’s sacred masterpiece, among others, with the Berliner Philharmoniker, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and the Teatro alla Scala on tour to the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and the Teatro Colón Buenos Aires. The Uruguayan soprano made her Bregenz Festival as Aida in 2009 and returned as Maddalena di Coigny in Andrea Chénier in 2012.

After this Messa da Requiem, upcoming engagements for Maria José Siri include the title role of Aida at the Arena of Verona, Leonora in a new staging of La forza del destino at the Deutsche Oper Berlin and Giorgetta in Il tabarro and the title role of Suor Angelica at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
