On September 16, 2021, Maria José Siri will make her debut at the Opéra Royal de Wallonie-Liège as Leonora di Vargas in La forza del destino, in a new production by Gianni Santucci and under the musical direction of Maestro Renato Palumbo, the first of a series of six performances running through October 1, 2021. She will share the stage with Marcelo Àlvarez as Don Alvaro, Simone Piazzola as Don Carlo, Nino Surguladze as Preziosilla, Michele Pertusi as Fra Guardiano and Enrico Marabelli as Fra Melitone.  The Uruguayan soprano is not new to the role of Leonora di Vargas, having already interpreted it a few times, most notably in a new production that inaugurated the 2019/2020 season of the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
