Pietari Inikinen returns to his own Deutsche Radio Philharmonie for a series of concerts in April 2023.
On April 16, in Kaiserslautern, he accompanies soprano Eleanor Lyons in three Antonín Dvořák vocal compositions (The Golden Spinning Wheel, op.109, Song to the Moon from Rusalka, The Slender Gazelle from Armida) and one Sergey Rachmaninoff song  (“Don’t sing, you beautiful” op. 4 no. 4). Also on the program is Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in D major, Op. 88, “English”.
The Finnish Maestro, a former chief conductor of the Prague Symphony Orchestra, is on the record stating that he feels now completely at home with Dvořák’s music, and is about to finish a complete recording of the composer’s symphonies with the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie.
On April 20, in Kaiserslautern, he conducts Jean Sibelius’s Finlandia, op. 26, and leads violinist Pinchas Zukerman in Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto in g minor op. 26.
On April 21 and 22, in  Saarbrücken, Inkinen, and Zukerman join forces again in Ludwig van Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in D major op. 61; also programmed are Sibelius’s Finlandia and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 8 in G major, Op. 88, “English”. The same program will be repeated on April 23 at the Köln Philharmonie.
