On May 10, 11 and 12, 2023, Pietari leads the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie at the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg. The program of the first two performances consists of Bedřich Smetana’s “Má vlast” (My Fatherland), cycle of six symphonic poems for orchestra, while the third evening includes Jean Sibelius’s Finlandia, tone poem op.26, Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No.8 in G Major op.88 and Franz Lizst’s Piano Concert in A Major, S 125, where he joins forces with pianist Rafał Blechacz.

“Finlandia” frequently appears in Pietari Inkinen’s programs. Not only does he performs Sibelius’s works regularly in his concert activity, but he also recorded all the Finnish composer’s symphonies for the Naxos label during his time as Music Director of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra.
