On March 7, 2024, Pietari Inkinen conducts the Deutsche Radio Philharmonie at the Arsenal in Metz, France, in a program entitled “Junge Riesen” (“Young Giants”) that includes Jean Sibelius’s Symphony No. 1 in E minor, op. 39, as well as Karol Szymanowski’s “Concert Overture, op. 12” and “Violin Concerto No. 2, op. 61”, also starring soloist Clara-Jumi Kang. Pietari Inkinen and Ms Kang will repeat the same program the following evening at the Congresshalle Saarbrücken.

The Finnish conductor has long championed the music of his fellow countryman Jean Sibelius, and has recorded all his symphonies with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra for the Naxos label.
