Saimir Pirgu as Don Ottavio at the Vienna State Opera

On March 2, 5 and 9, 2017 Saimir Pirgu will sing Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera. The performances will be conducted by Adam Fischer and will also feature Adam Plachetka (Don Giovanni), Caroline Wenborne / Albina Shagimuratova (Donna Anna), Olga Bezsmertna (Donna Elvira), Jongmin Park (Leporello), Dan Paul Dumitrescu (Commendatore), Igor Onishchenko (Masetto) and Valentina Naforniţa (Zerlina).

The Albanian tenor already performed Don Ottavio in Roberto de Simone’s staging at the Vienna State Opera and sang the role in Jean-Louis Martinoty’s production last time in 2010.

Performances this year after this Don Giovanni series in Vienna will lead Saimir Pirgu as Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor and in his role debut as Gabriele Adorno in Simon Boccanegra to the Teatro San Carlo in Naples, as tenor soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem to the Royal Festival Hall in London and to Madrid and as Duca in a new production of Rigoletto to the Dutch National Opera Amsterdam.
