On May 25, 2018 Saimir Pirgu will return to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, starring in a Verdi Gala Concert conducted by Paolo Arrivabeni and featuring sopranos Nicole Car, Irina Churilova and Seyoung Park.

The star tenor will sing arias and duets from Simon Boccanegra, Macbeth, Luisa Miller and Un ballo in maschera.

Saimir Pirgu made his Berlin debut at the Staatsoper Berlin as Alfredo in a Peter Mussbach staging of La traviata, reprising the role in a new production by Dieter Dorn for the same theatre in 2015. At the Deutsche Oper Berlin he was also heard as Alfredo in La traviata besides performances as Nemorino in L’eliri d’amore.

Verdi performances after this concert in Berlin include Messa da Requiem in Toulouse and Turin, Rigoletto (Duca) in Munich, Naples, Paris and Luxembourg as well as a new staging of La traviata at the Théâtre des Champs Élysées in Paris.
