SAIMIR PIRGU TO MAKE HIS STAGE DEBUT IN UN BALLO IN MASCHERA

On January 12, 2019 Saimir Pirgu will make his stage debut as Riccardo in Un ballo in maschera for the inauguration of the 2018/2019 season of the Teatro Regio Parma, in a production by Marina Bianchi under the musical direction by Maestro Sebastiano Rolli. He will share the stage with Irina Churilova as Amelia, Leon Kim as Renato, Silvia Beltrami as Ulrica and Laura Giordano as Oscar.

The Albanian born Italian naturalized tenor had previously sang this iconic Verdi role in concert under the baton of Maestro Zubin Mehta.

After this Parma Ballo, Saimir Pirgu’s 2018/2019 season engagements include Alfredo in La traviata at the Vienna State Opera, Faust in La damnation de Faust at the Vienna Konzerthaus and the Birmingham Symphony Hall, Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Chicago Symphony, the title role in Werther at the New National Theater Tokyo, Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the Teatro San Carlo Naples and Nemorino in L’elisir d’amore at the Vienna State Opera
