On May 5, 2019 Scott Hendricks will sing the title role in the world premiere of Moritz Eggert’s M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder at the Komische Oper in Berlin, in what will also be his house debut. The performance will be conducted by Ainārs Rubiķis and feature staging by Barrie Kosky. There will be five further performances, running through June 26, 2019. Other cast members include, among others, Alma Sadé and Tansel Akzeybek.

M – Eine Stadt sucht einen Mörder, based on Fritz Lang’s 1931 crime thriller movie, will be Hendricks’ second world premiere of the 2018/2019 season. In March 2019, the American baritone created the title role in Mark Grey’s new opera Frankenstein at La Monnaie in Brussels.

Further engagements this season for Mr. Hendricks include returning to the Bregenzer Festspiele to sing the title role in Rigoletto.
