On July 6, 2023, Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Berlin State Operafor four performances as Médée in a revival of Cherubini’s opera in Andrea Breth’s production under the musical direction of Oksana Lyniv, with a cast also including Charles Castronovo as Jason, David Ostrek as Creon, Slavka Zamečníkova as Dirce and Marina Prudenskaya as Neris.

Shirley Apthorp of Financial Times, one of the numerous rave reviews that welcomed the Bulgarian soprano’s role debut at the Berlin State Opera in 2018.

Sonya Yoncheva will return to the Berlin State Opera in April 2024 as Tosca, a role she will also bring to the Arena di Verona, Baden-Baden, Gstaad, and Tokyo in the next few months.
