On May 25, 2024, at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall, Sonya Yoncheva will star in a concert devoted to Puccini’s music, with Domingo Hindoyan leading the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic. Co-starring tenor Riccardo Massi, the program includes arias and duets from “La bohème,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Manon Lescaut,” and “Le Villi”;  “Capriccio Sinfonico,” Act III Prelude to “Madama Butterfly,” and Intermezzo from “Suor Angelica.”

The Bulgarian soprano is one of today’s most acclaimed Puccini interpreters, with high-profile performances as Tosca, Mimì, Manon Lescaut, and Madama Butterfly to her credit. Her last collaboration with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic included a heart-rendering interpretation of Giuseppe Martucci’s La canzone dei ricordi.
