Following her sensational Japanese debut in a concert in July 2022, Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Land of the Rising Sun with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on tour with four performances as Tosca. The first show will take place at the Kanagawa Kenmin Hall, Yokohama, on September 17, while the remaining three will be at the Bunka Kaikan, Tokyo, on September 21, 24 and 26, 2023.

The historical production by Franco Zeffirelli will be conducted by Michele Mariotti; Sonya Yoncheva will be partnered by Vittorio Grigolo as Mario Cavaradossi and Roman Burdenko as Barone Scarpia.

On September 30, the Bulgarian soprano will appear again at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan in a concert with the Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra led by Francesco Ivan Ciampa, where she will sing arias from Bellini’s “Il pirata”, Mascagni’s “Iris”, Massenet’s “Thaïs”, Leoncavallo’s “La bohème” among others.
