On July 26, 2024, at the Festival Peralada Sonya Yoncheva will partner with tenor Ismael Jordi in an evening devoted to the zarzuela. Accompanied on the piano by Rubén Fernández Aguirre, they will perform some of the most beautiful and famous zarzuela arias and duets, with music by Sorozábal, Luna, Torroba, Guerrero, Marqués, Vives, Chapí, Soutullo & Vert, Barrera & Calleja, and Penella.

This is not Sonya Yoncheva’s first approach to the zarzuela, as she gave a highly praised concert in the temple of that genre, the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid, in 2021.

It is not her first appearance in Peralada; she received a standing ovation at her festival debut two summers ago.
