George Gagnidze makes his Hungarian State Opera debut as Verdi’s Macbeth in a new Matthew Wilde production under the musical direction of Martin Rajna, singing alongside Csilla Boross as his Lady, Krisztián Cser as Banco/Doctor, and Szabolcs Brickner as Macduff in the other principal roles. The premiere is on February 22, with additional performances on February 26 and 28.

Macbeth has long been one of the Georgian baritone’s favorite parts, having sung it in some of the most illustrious stages of the world, including the Metropolitan Opera New York, Ópera de Las Palmas, and Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia Valencia, Teatro San Carlo Naples, and Teatro Comunale Bologna.
