MARIA JOSÉ SIRI AS TOSCA IN SALERNO

On May 21, 2019 Maria José Siri will make her house debut at the Teatro Verdi in Salerno, singing the title role in Tosca. The occasion will mark the premiere of a new production, directed by Michele Sorrentino Mangini. Daniel Oren will conduct. There will be two further performances, on May 25 and 29, 2019. Gustavo Porta will sing Cavaradossi, and Sergey Murzaev will sing Scarpia.

Ms. Siri regularly sings Tosca at the world’s top opera houses. Her recent performances at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa won high praise from critics, as have her others at opera houses such as the Berlin Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Dresden Semperoper, the Vienna Staatsoper, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, the Teatro Regio in Turin, and the Tokyo New National Theater.

Following these Tosca performances in Salerno, Ms. Siri will appear at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, as the title role of Manon Lescaut. Further future engagements include the Verdi Requiem at the Bregenz Festival, the title role in Aida at the Arena di Verona, Leonora in a new production of La forza del destino at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, as well as the title role in Suor Angelica and her role debut as Giorgetta in Il tabarro at the Florence Opera House.
