MICHAEL NAGL | DIE ZAUBERFLÖTE | SALZBURG

On July 30, 2022, Michael Nagl will make his debut at the Salzburg Festival as Papageno in Die Zauberflöte. In the revival of Lydia Steier’s staging, which premiered in Salzburg in 2018, Michael Nagl will share the stage with Tareq Nazmi, Mauro Peter, Brenda Rae/Jasmin Delfs, Regula Mühlemann, Ilse Eerens, Sophie Rennert, Noa Beinart, Maria Nazarova, Peter Tantsits, Henning von Schulman, Simon Bode and Roland Koch. Joana Mallwitz will conduct the performances which will take place at the Haus für Mozart.

Michael Nagl will be the first Austrian Papageno to appear at the Salzburg Festival since ten years. He has previously sung the part at the Opéra national de Lorraine in Nancy, where he made his role debut in 2018.

The premiere of Die Zauberflöte at the Salzburg Festival will be telecast live on July 30 at 6:30pm CET by Mezzo, with re-transmissions on August 11 on Servus TV and on August 20 on Medici.tv. On August 12, the recording will be screened open-air on the Kapitelplatz in Salzburg. Live performances of Die Zauberflöte in Salzburg will take place on July 30, August 3, 6, 10, 17, 20, 24 and 27, 2022.
