NICOLE CAR IN DON CARLO AT THE OPÉRA NATIONAL DE PARIS

On November 14, 2019, Nicole Car will make her role debut as Elisabetta di Valois in Don Carlo at the Opéra National de Paris, in a production by Krzysztof Warlikowski and under the musical direction of Fabio Luisi, the first of a series of four performances running through November 23, 2019. She will share the stage with Michael Fabiano in the title role, René Pape as Filippo II, Anita Rachvelishvili as Principessa Eboli, Étienne Dupuis as Rodrigo di Posa and Vitalij Kowaljow as Il Grande Inquisitore.

Nicole Car, who made her Opéra National de Paris debut as Tatyana in Evgenij Onegin in the 2016/17 season, has also graced that stage as Mimì in La bohème, Micaëla in Carmen and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. This is the third Verdi part for the Australian soprano, having previously sang the title roles in La traviata and Luisa Miller.

After this Parisian Don Carlo, Nicole Car’s upcoming engagements include a Christmas concert at the Maison Symphonique de Montréal, Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at the Metropolitan Opera New York, the title role in Thaïs at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Mimì in La bohème at the Royal Opera House London, and Tatyana in Evgenij Onegin at the Sydney Opera House.
