RICCARDO MASSI AS CAVARADOSSI IN WASHINGTON D.C.

On May 11, 2019 Riccardo Massi will appear as Cavaradossi in Tosca at the Washington National Opera, making his house debut. The production will be conducted by Speranza Scappucci and feature staging by Ethan McSweeny. There will be five further performances, running through May 25, featuring Keri Alkema in the title role, and Alan Held as Scarpia.

Massi is in high demand as Cavaradossi, regularly appearing at top opera houses. Last season alone he sang the role at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, returning after his performance of the same role there during the 2015/2016 season, as well as at the Hamburg State Opera, Palm Beach Opera, and in Ansan and Seoul with the KBS Symphony Orchestra. He has also been engaged as Cavaradossi by Opera Australia (Sydney Opera House), the Dresden Semperoper, and the Berlin State Opera.

Following this Tosca in Washington, Massi will sing the role at the Semperoper Dresden in June. He will then sing Pollione (Norma) at the Bavarian State Opera’s Munich Opera Festival in July.
