On January 8 and 9, 2025, Sonya Yoncheva will star in two New Year’s concerts at the Victoria Hall, Geneva, and Théâtre de Beaulieu, respectively, with L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, led by Jonathan Nott. She will be partnered with tenor Dmitri Korchak. The concerts will include music by Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti, Puccini, Bizet, and Verdi.

In particular, the Bulgarian soprano will sing two pieces from Bellini’s “Il pirata” (the act I duet with Gualtiero “Se un giorno fia … Tu sciagurato !’, and Imogene’s final aria “’Oh s’io potessi’…Col sorriso d’innocenza); “Casta diva” with its cabaletta “Oh bello a me ritorna” from Norma; Abigaille’s aria “Anch’io dischiuso un giorno” from “Nabucco”, and two excerpts from “La traviata”: “Parigi, o cara”, and the famous Act I drinking song with Mr. Korchak.

This concert will be recorded and broadcast on 08.01.25 as part of the Plein jeu program. Like most concerts recorded by RTS Espace 2, it will also be available on Play RTS.
