“Rebirth” is a best-selling album Sonya Yoncheva recorded in 2021 and released by SONY Classical, and on the wake of its success, the Bulgarian soprano toured the world with a program reflecting the contents of the CD, with stops in major venues such as the Teatro alla Scala, Victoria Hall of Geneva, the Palau de la Música of Barcelona, and the Salzburg Festival, Now, on December 2, 2023, she will present it in her native country, at the Bulgaria Hall in Sofia, an event promoted by her own producing and recording company, SY11. The manifesto of this recording project and its consequent tour, kept in the pipeline for about 10 years and realized only in 2020- just during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic – is that of a hoped-for creative and humanistic rebirth, the trigger for which is precisely the long period of silence and inactivity that characterized the still ongoing pandemic. Not only that, the Bulgarian soprano’s intent is to demonstrate the timeless beauty of the music of the 1500s-‘600s, always relevant thanks to an irresistible mix of emotion, beauty, and simplicity.
