On December 8, 2019, Annalisa Stroppa will make her debut at the Hamburg State Opera as Angelina in La Cenerentola, in a production by Renaud Doucet conducted by Maestro Matteo Beltrami, a series of seven performances running through December 31. She will sing alongside Xavier Anduaga as Don Ramiro, Maurizio Muraro as Don Magnifico and Kartal Karagedik as Dandini.
“I am so thrilled to make my debut in this prestigious theatre in such a wonderful role!”, states the Brescia-born mezzo-soprano. “The musical direction is entrusted to Maestro Matteo Beltrami’s experienced hand and the captivating and extremely funny production is by Renaud Doucet with André Barbe.”
Annalisa Stroppa made her role debut as Angelina in the 2015/2016 season at the Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, reprising it at the Teatro Giuseppe Verdi Padoa in December 2018. “It’s one of my very favorite roles. I am a lyric mezzo, and together with the French repertoire, I believe bel-canto, both buffo and serio, perfectly suits my vocal means as well as my personality.”
After this Hamburg Cenerentola, Annalisa Stroppa’s upcoming engagements include Rosina in Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa and the Bavarian State Opera Munich, Adalgisa in Norma at the Teatro San Carlo Naples, the title role in Carmen at the Teatre Principal Palma de Mallorca, and her role debut as Geltrude in Faccio’s Amleto at the Teatro Filarmonico Verona.
