After scoring a resounding success as Hérode in Lyon and Paris earlier this season (“Etienne Dupuis, brings his elevated and biting language, his good looks, but also his vocal caress”, wrote Diapason), the Montreal-born baritone reprises his celebrated portrayal of the Biblical tetrarch to the Deutsche Oper Berlin, for two concerts performances on June 15 and 18, 2023. Enrique Mazzola leads a distinguished cast including Clémentine Margaine in the title role, Nicole Car as Salomè, Matthew Polenzani as Jean and Marko Mimica as Phanuel.
Ètienne Dupuis has already graced the stage of the Deutsche Oper in the title role of Eugene Onegin, as Rodrigo di Posa in Don Carlo and in a Verdi Gala.
