ETIENNE DUPUIS TO MAKE DEBUT AS DON GIOVANNI AT PARIS OPERA

On June 11, 2019 Etienne Dupuis will make his role debut as the title character of Don Giovanni at the Paris Opera, premiering a new production by Ivo van Hove at the Palais Garnier. Philippe Jordan will conduct the evening and the following ten performances, and Guillermo García Calvo will conduct the final show on July 13, 2019. Joining Dupuis onstage will be Ain Anger as Il Commendatore, Jacquelyn Wagner as Donna Anna, Nicole Car as Donna Elvira, Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Don Ottavio, Mikhail Timoshenko as Masetto, and Elsa Dreisig as Zerlina.

Dupuis was most recently heard at the Paris Opera as Belcore in L’elisir d’amore at the Opéra Bastille earlier this season. He has also appeared there as Pelléas in Pelléas et Mélisande in the 2017/2018 season, and Oreste in Iphigénie en Tauride in the 2016/2017 season.

Future engagements after Don Giovanni feature the title role of Eugene Onegin at L’Opéra de Montréal, Don Carlo (Rodrigo) at the Paris Opera, Werther (Albert) at the Metropolitan Opera, and Thaïs (Athanaël) at the Deutsche Oper Berlin.
