Fréderic Chaslin inaugurates the 2023/2024 season of the Teatro la Fenice on November 24 with “Les contes d’Hoffmann”, in a new production by Damiano Michieletto and a cast including Ivan Ayon Rivas in the title role, Paola Gardina (La Musa), Giuseppina Bridelli (Nicklausse), Alex Esposito (Lindorf, Coppélius, Le docteur Miracle, Dapertutto), Rocio Pérez (Olympia), Carmela Remigio (Antonia), Veronique Gens (Giulietta), Didier Pieri (Andrès, Cochenille, Frantz, Pitichinaccio), Federica Giansanti (La Voix), Christian Collia (Nathanaël), François Piolino (Spalanzani), Yoann Dubruque (Hermann/Schlemill), and Francesco Milanese (Luther, Crespel).

Frédéric Chaslin, conductor, pianist but also renowned scholar, is an expert on the score and complex, multi-layered story of this opera fantastique, which he has championed in many prestigious International opera companies such as the Metropolitan Opera New York,  Vienna State Opera, New National Theatre Tokyo, Deutsche Oper Berlin, New Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, and just this year at the Semperoper Dresden and in a new production at the Teatro alla Scala. Furthermore, it was with this masterpiece that he made his La Fenice debut in 1994, subsequently returning with “La Juive”, “Faust”, and several symphonic concerts.
