IRINA LUNGU AS MIMI IN NEW PRODUCTION OF LA BOHEME IN OMAN

On October 3 and 5, 2019, Irina Lungu will sing Mimì in a new production of La bohème by Jean-Louis Grinda at the Royal Opera House Muscat conducted by Giuseppe Finzi. She will share the stage with Giorgio Berrugi as Rodolfo, Mariam Battistelli as Musetta, Gabriel Bermudez as Marcello, George Andguladze as Colline and Giovanni Romeo as Schaunard.

Irina Lungu made her role debut at the Kolobov Novaya Opera Theatre in Moscow in 2015, subsequently interpreting it at the Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro San Carlo Naples and the Seoul Arts Center. Later this season, she will perform the role of Puccini’s unfortunate seamstress in the same Grinda production at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo, and at the Teatro Lirico Cagliari.

Other upcoming engagements for the Russian soprano include Corinna in Il viaggio a Reims and Marguerite in Faust for Opera Australia at the Sydney Opera House, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at the Vienna State Opera, and a role debut as the soprano soloist in Verdi’s Messa da Requiem at the Zaryadye Hall Moscow.
