On October 20, 2021, Maria José Siri will sing the role of Abigaille in Nabucco at the Teatro Petruzzelli Bari, in a production by Leo Muscato under the musical direction of Maestro Renato Palumbo, the first of a series of four performances running through October 26, 2021.

She will share the stage with George Petean in the title role, Riccardo Zanellato as Zaccaria, Giulio Pelligra as Ismaele and Nino Surguladze as Fenena.

The Uruguayan born soprano, who first added the role of Abigaille to her repertoire at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in the fall of 2020 with Plácido Domingo in the title part made her debut at the Teatro Petruzzelli in the 2019/20 season as Adriana Lecouvreur.

In November 2021, she will sing the role for the first time at the Wiener Staatsoper.
