On April 21, 2021, Maria José Siri will star in the title role of Adriana Lecouvreur in the inaugural production of the 83rd edition of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, in a staging by Frederic Wake-Walker and under the musical direction of Maestro Daniel Harding, the first of a series of five performances running through May 6, 2021. She will sing alongside Martin Muehle as Maurizio, Ksenia Dudnikova as Principessa di Bouillon and Nicola Alaimo as Michonnet. The Uruguayan soprano, who has already interpreted the role of the French tragedienne at the Teatro Petruzzelli Bari and at the Ópera de Las Palmas, made her debut at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as Aida in 2011 and later returned as Giorgetta in Il tabarro and Suor Angelica.
