On August 26, 2018 Maria Mudryak will make her debut at the Arena of Verona in “Verdi Opera Night”, a gala devoted to the music of Giuseppe Verdi, where she will sing the role of Violetta in Act III of La traviata. She will share the stage with Luciano Ganci as Alfredo and Simone Piazzola as Germont. The evening also includes the overture from La forza del destino, Act II of Rigoletto, and act III of Il trovatore. Maestro Andrea Battistoni will conduct, and Stefano Trespidi will be the stage director. Violetta is Maria Mudryak’s most performed role, having sung it at the Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Teatro San Carlo Naples and Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, among others.”It’s so thrilling for me to sing at the Arena di Verona, particularly in my favorite role, Violetta Valéry”, says the soprano. I’ve always wanted to sing at the Arena and with this debut a dream will come true. Verdi is my favorite composer and I would love to convey to the audience all the emotions he put into this act, as the confession of the dying young Violetta won’t leave anyone indifferent! I feel so much responsibility and happiness at the same time!”

After this Verdi gala, Maria Mudryak’s 2018/2019 season engagements include Adina ne L’elisir d’amore at the Grand Théâtre d’Avignon, Violetta in La traviata at the Teatro San Carlo Naples and a New Year’s Eve gala concert in Oman with Vittorio Grigolo.
