On November 28, 2018 Saimir Pirgu will sing Alfredo Germont in the premiere of Deborah Warner’s new production of La traviata conducted by Jérémie Rhorer at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées of Paris. Vannina Santoni will sing the title role, Laurent Naouri that of Giorgio Germont.

Saimir Pirgu gave acclaimed performances as Alfredo Germont at opera houses such as the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden and the San Francisco Opera, to only mention a few. In the “Verdi Year” 2013 he brought his portrayal of Alfredo to the Metropolitan Opera.

The premiere in Paris on November 28 will mark his 100th performance in this role.
