On May 12, 2023, Sonya Yoncheva stars in the annual gala of the Friends of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein at the Düsseldorf Opera conducted by Axel Kober leading the Duisburg Philharmonic, and moderated by musician, singer and television presenter Goetz Alsmann. In recent years, operatic luminaries such as Edita Gruberova, Anja Harteros, Juan Diego Flórez, Ramon Vargas, and Rolando Villazón, have been guests of this prestigious event of German musical life.
Sonya Yoncheva’s upcoming schedule this coming summer in Germany is very intense and includes a Verismo Concert as well as Tosca at the Festspielhaus, Baden-Baden, and a revival of the production Cherubini’s Médée at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, Berlin, Germany, which she premiered to great acclaim in 2018.
