Sonya Yoncheva returns to the Staatsoper Unter Den Linden in Berlin on November 27, 2023, for a recital including music by Isaac Albéniz, Giacomo Puccini, Giuseppe Martucci, Paolo Tosti and Giuseppe Verdi, accompanied on the piano by Malcolm Martineau. The Bulgarian soprano has been enjoying a long and fruitful collaboration with the Staatsoper Berlin, where this season she is appearing as Tosca and Madama Butterfly. Previously, she has graced the stage of the Staatsoper as Cherubini’s Médéè, Violetta in La traviata, Mimi in La bohème, Tosca, as well as a Rolex Perpetual Music Concert in support of musicians during the challenging period of COVID-19.
